    The camp offers 34 camping units with tent pad, picnic table and parking spur near 60 acre warm water lake which provides opportunities for fishing and boating (electric motors only). Paved boat launching ramp, hiking trails and picnic units with tables and grills are also features of the site.

    The lake was constructed by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries and is stocked with northern pike, bass, blue gill, rainbow trout and catfish. Two handicapped accessible fishing piers have been constructed with a handicapped trail on the northern shoreline below the parking lot.

    Open May 15 – September 15

    19 single units and 2 double units, each unit has a parking spur, tent pad, wooden picnic table and lantern post. Facilities include bathhouse, central water fountain, central garbage containers, and dump station. Accommodates RVs up to 16 feet long.

    Camping fee:  $12.00 per unit per night or $17.00 per unit per night with electricity; Day use fee $3

    From Coeburn VA:  Follow Alternate Route 58 East for 3.7 miles.  At the stop light in Tacoma make a left onto SR 706 and follow for 4.1 miles.  Turn left onto SR 699 and follow for 0.1 miles. Turn right onto SR 822 and follow for 2.0 miles to the entrance of Bark Camp on the right.

    The campground is in Breaks Interstate Park, full and partial hookups; bathhouses with hot showers, flush toilets, swimming pool.  138 sites range from a great place to pitch your tent to full RV hook-ups. Most of these sites are wooded but if you prefer, grassy areas are available in C Bottom. Playgrounds, a basketball court, a well-stocked store and a laundry facility are available. If you wish to bring a group, please contact the park for details on our overflow area. The campground is open each year from March 1 through the first Monday in December.

    As one of the largest campgrounds in the Jefferson National Forest, Cave Springs offers a small lake for swimming that is fed by a spring that originates in the mountains above in a cave. A white sand beach is on the northern shore of the lake. The day use area has 10 picnic units, each with a wooden table and grill located in a young pine forest. This camping area features 41 camping units with tent pad, picnic table and parking spur. Spaces for recreational vehicles up to 22 feet are at each site. There is also an amphitheater and a 1 acre lake for swimming.Hiking trails developed in the area include one that leads to the cave and stone overlook and loops back to the parking lot. Another trail leads to the Stone Mountain Trail that follows the crest of the mountain for 14.3 miles and ends at Roaring Branch, near Appalachia, VA.

    From Kingsport, TN: Take US 23 to Big Stone Gap. Follow US 58A west for 2.5 miles. Turn right onto VA 621. Follow VA 621 for 6.1 miles to the campground entrance. The paved entrance road is 0.4 miles long.

    From Abingdon VA: Follow US 58/US 19 West to Hansonville, VA. Turn left onto US 58 Alternate to Big Stone Gap. At Big Stone Gap, remain on US 58 Alt. for 2.5 miles. Turn right onto SR 621 and go 6.1 miles to the Cave Springs entrance road on right.

    The Wilderness Road campground is located approximately 3 miles from the park visitor center off of Highway 58 in Virginia. It has 160 sites in a beautiful wooded setting.

    20, 30 and 50 amp electrical hookups are available at 41 of the sites. Hot showers and potable water are located in the comfort stations.

    Campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

    Camping fees:

    $12.00 per night per site for tent sites with no electricity.

    $17.00 per night per site for electrical hookup.

    All sites are one-half price for Golden Age and Golden Access holders.

    Group Camp sites are available. Cost is $30.00 per night per site for 30 people or fewer. There is an additional charge for groups of more than 30 of $1.00 per person.

    Reservations for group campsites can be made up to 90 days in advance by calling the park visitor center at (606)248-2817.

    Cuz’s restaurant, famous for its food since 1979, now has two new cedar log cabins. Both cabins have indoor hot tubs, woodburning fireplaces, and king size beds. Prices for two people are $145 for the one-bedroom and $175 for the two-bedroom cabin. The cost includes two full breakfasts brought to you in the morning. There is a charge of $30 for each additional guest. A beautiful and secluded outdoor pool built on the hillside is open in the summer months. Guests often comment that it’s paradise and that they don’t want to leave.     At an elevation of 3,800 feet, High Knob Recreation Area is the highest campground in the Clinch Ranger District of the Jefferson National Forest.

    The main attraction at the site is High Knob Lake, a 4 acre cold water lake with a 300 ft. sand swimming beach. A small amphitheater is located on a hillside behind the beach house. The lake is stocked and fishing is permitted with a Virginia license and a Forest Service Stamp.

    Several trails can be accessed from the campground, including a 1.5 miles hike to the High Knob Observation Tower and the 1 mile High Knob Lakeshore Loop. Primitive camping spots are available at 13 single units and 1 group unit . Each are equipped with a parking spot, wooden picnic table, tent pad, fire place and lantern post. Can accommodate RV’s up to 16 feet long. Facilities include central garbage containers, central water fountains, flush toilets, and dump station.

    Overlooking the Clinch River is our beautiful cabin on the Clinch River Farm.  It is so peaceful that we have named it Journey. This facility is totally off the grid and is located between the Clinch River and the N & W Railroad with no access to public utilities.  The cabin is a pole barn structure made of hemlock and designed by the owners of the farm to be flexible and fun. This 1000 plus square foot building boasts of a private bedroom and a loft for 9.  There are two full baths, hickory kitchen cabinets, a gas stove, microwave, and a refrigerator.  The great room has 20 foot high vaulted ceiling and full stairs to the open loft above.  The upper front porch overlooks the river with Amish glider chairs and a checker board.  The lower porch has a hot tub.  A large 30×14 deck on the west side for large outside entertaining or tenting.  A wood and coal stove, solar electric, rain water collection to the cistern, and other off grid devices make this remote cottage a privacy plus get away.  There is only one way in and out of Clinch River Farms.

    Natural Tunnel, called the Eighth Wonder of the World, has been attracting sightseers to the mountains of southwestern Virginia for more than 100 years. It is the focal point of Natural Tunnel State Park.

    Weekly cabin rentals are available, which are required for these facilities during prime season. Prime season runs annually from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Guests who wish to stay less than a week during prime season may call 30 days prior to desired arrival date to see if there is vacancy for two-night minimum stay. During prime season, cabin rentals begin on either Saturday or Sunday.

    The park has 10 cabins and one six-bedroom lodge. There are no extra bed rentals. Week-long stays are required during prime season – Memorial Day through Labor day – and a two-night minimum stay is required outside of prime season. Cabins and lodges are open year-round and may be reserved up to 11 months in advance. Cabin check-in is 3 p.m., check-out is 10 a.m.

    The cabins are on a mountain ridge offering mountain views and access to the park’s trails. Winter weather can vary here, so be sure to read policies regarding transferring and cancellation of cabin rentals because of inclement weather.
